Annual Horton Leadership Award
Investing in people, especially our youth is a passion for my wife and I. That is why we created this Leadership Award. It’s a small way to give back to the youth of Highlands County. The recipient of the award will be recognized for a strong work ethic and past achievements, whether they are academic, community-based, or both.
2019 Inaugural Leadership Award
Luke Laschkewitsch, our inaugural recipient has demonstrated excellent leadership skills. Luke graduated from Sebring High School in 2019. He has been a part of Sebring High’s JROTC for all four years of high school. He has also spent the last 13 years being a part of Scouting and recently attained the highest level of Eagle Scout. Luke has also been on a mission trip to South Korea and is currently planning a second trip. He is also going to Mexico in July 2019 on another mission trip. I am honored to have the opportunity to invest in this young man’s life. Through this Leadership Award, my desire is to encourage and inspire other young people to continue down a positive life path.

2020 Annual Leadership Award
Our 2020 recipient, Miss. Scott, demonstrates a strong work ethic that shows an internal motivation to succeed. We are honored to bestow this award to you. We received this wonderful thank you note from Reagan and being able to make an investment in our youth is why we started the Leadership Award.
This thank you is long overdue, however, it’s really important that I convey how grateful I am for the $500 Leadership Scholarship. Graduating from college debt-free is one of my top goals. In the fall, I will be attending SFSC and GCBI. Your $500 will help with the GCBI tuition. Aside from the scholarship, I want to thank you for your sweet ways. I have loved my friendship with Lena and I’ve loved getting to know your endearing family. Love, Reagan
